Manukau Courier:
Christina Middelbeek-Harrison’s dream of becoming a junior New Zealand water polo representative came true in Sydney on Sunday.
The 15-year-old from Saint Kentigern College realised it at the famous Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre where her New Zealand under-16 team is competing in the Sydney Youth Water Polo Festival.
They’re up against Australian state teams that feature some of the best 16-year-olds in the country.
Middelbeek-Harrison is excited about her first international outing and is determined make the three remaining days of competition her best.
“I feel privileged, proud and humbled to be in a New Zealand team. My goals are to be the best I can be, be a team player, work hard and hopefully do better than representative teams from previous years.”
